Pietro Banchini

Dr. Pietro Banchini is the Director of the Orthopedic Unit at the Istituto Clinico Città di Pavia. He also collaborates with Palazzo della Salute – Wellness Clinic and the Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Parma in 2002, where he also specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2007.

His primary research and clinical interests include orthopedic surgery, particularly arthroscopic and post-traumatic reconstructive knee surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and primary and revision prosthetic surgery of the knee and hip.

Before finishing his university career, he began his professional rugby career in Serie A in 1987 with Rugby Parma and ended it in 1999 with Rugby Rovigo, having made over 130 appearances in the top division.

Dr. Banchini served as a Board Member of the S.I.G.A.S.C.O.T (Italian Society of Arthroscopy, Knee, Upper Limb, Sport, Cartilage, and Orthopedic Technologies) from 2012 to 2016 and again from 2021 to 2022. He is the author of several articles and books on knee prosthetic pathology and anterior cruciate ligament injuries. He regularly participates as a speaker in national and international conferences.
