Paolo Trentani

Dr. Paolo Trentani is an orthopedic traumatologist in the Orthopedics IX Unit at Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1995 and obtained his medical license in 1996. In April 1998, he trained as a "Fellow Observer" in the Orthopedics Department of Prof. T. Sculco at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, focusing on hip and knee prosthetic surgery. In 1999, he completed an internship at the same hospital, specializing in hip, knee, and spine surgery. He earned his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in 2000, graduating with full marks and honors.

Dr. Trentani has worked in the Joint Revision Surgery and New Implants Department at Rizzoli Hospital in Bologna, focusing on reconstructive and corrective joint surgery of the knee and ankle/foot, both through traditional and arthroscopic methods. He continued his surgical career at Villa Laura, a private accredited clinic in Bologna, where he specialized in reconstructive and arthroscopic lower limb surgery and joint regenerative medicine using autologous mesenchymal stem cells. He currently collaborates with Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

Dr. Trentani’s expertise includes hip and knee joint prosthetic reconstruction, minimally invasive forefoot corrective surgery, knee arthroscopy, and joint and tendon regenerative medicine using autologous mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue or bone marrow.

An author of numerous publications, he actively participates in national and international conferences in his field.
