Paola Proserpio

Dr. Paola Proserpio is a neurologist specializing in sleep disorders at the Neurology Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Turro Hospital.

In 2005, she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan-Bicocca, where she specialized in Neurology in 2009.

In 2011, she obtained the Italian Diploma of Expert in Sleep Medicine from the Italian Sleep Medicine Association, and in 2015, she earned the European Diploma of Expert in Sleep Medicine from the European Sleep Research Society.

She completed the last two years of her specialization at the Epilepsy Surgery Center of Niguarda Hospital in Milan, focusing primarily on Sleep Medicine. From 2009 to 2018, she worked as a research fellow at the same center, participating in several research projects on sleep disorders and the relationship between sleep and epilepsy.

From 2011 to 2013, Dr. Proserpio participated in a project funded by the Lombardy Region on sleep at Lodi Hospital while concurrently engaging in clinical activities as a consultant at the Sleep Center of Niguarda and at the Humanitas San Pio X Clinic.

In 2018, she served as a Medical Director at Niguarda Hospital, where she was appointed Head of the Sleep Center, dedicating part of her work to Neurophysiology, handling electroencephalographic diagnostics (brain death assessments, neonatal EEG monitoring, emergency EEG reporting) and the adult epilepsy outpatient clinic.

Since June 2023, she has been working at the Sleep Center of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of various sleep disorders in both adults and children.

An author of numerous scientific articles published in indexed journals, she is very active in the field of sleep research.
