Biography
Dr. Mauro Luca Agnifili is a senior interventional cardiologist at the Unit of Clinical, Interventional Cardiology and Coronary Intensive Care at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, where he has worked since 2015.
He graduated cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2005 (110/110 with honors), and continued his training at the same university, completing his specialization in Cardiology in 2009.
As part of his training, he completed a prestigious fellowship in interventional cardiology at the renowned Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, under the guidance of Dr. Jean Fajadet, a world-leading pioneer in the field. This experience strengthened his expertise in treating complex coronary artery disease, providing a solid foundation in both advanced techniques and clinical judgment.
From 2011 to 2015, he worked as an interventional cardiologist at Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio in Milan, within the team of Dr. Bedogni, further refining his skills in coronary angioplasty procedures.
His clinical practice focuses on percutaneous treatment of coronary and valvular diseases, with a particular emphasis on advanced techniques and a multidisciplinary approach to complex patients.
Alongside his clinical activity, Dr. Agnifili has been committed to public health education, participating in outreach campaigns in high schools to promote cardiovascular disease prevention among youth.
He also served for several years as a visiting doctor at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas, in the interventional cardiology department directed by Professor Paolo Angelini, where he deepened his understanding of the American approach to cardiovascular care.
Dr. Agnifili combines his international experience with a strong focus on technological innovation and the personalization of care for each patient.
He actively participates in national and international cardiology conferences.
