Biography

Professor Maurizio Domanin is accredited as a vascular surgeon at Casa di Cura La Madonnina, where he performs specialist consultations, EcocolorDoppler, sclerotherapy, and surgical interventions. He is also part of the Vascular Surgery staff at IRCCS Fondazione Cà Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1986 with honors and obtained his specialization in Vascular Surgery in 1990, also with honors.

He is Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Milan and has taught and lectured in the following courses:

  • Vascular Surgery Specialization School
  • General Surgery Specialization School
  • Cardiovascular Diseases Specialization School

Professor Domanin specializes in arterial and venous vascular diseases, specifically dealing with:

  • Aortic aneurysms
  • Peripheral arteriosclerosis
  • Carotid stenosis
  • Varicose veins and phlebology in general

He conducts research in Vascular Surgery with a particular focus on translational research in collaboration with the engineering field for the application of computational fluid dynamics in the study of vascular diseases.

He is the winner of the European Research Council 2015 Proof of Concept. He is responsible for PRIN MIUR 2005. He is a member of the team that won PRIN MIUR 2020. He has 95 publications in international journals indexed in Scopus with an H-index of 14 and 594 citations.

He is also author/co-author of 40 chapters in Vascular Surgery books, including:
