Biography

Dr. Maurizio Cremona is a urologist at the Istituto Clinico San Siro and Palazzo della Salute - Wellness Clinic in Milan.

He completed his medical training at the University of Bologna, earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1980 and later specializing in Urology in 1986.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cremona has focused particularly on endoscopic techniques, clinically experimenting with various energy sources, including lasers. His primary expertise includes endoscopic treatment of prostatic hypertrophy, bladder tumors, and ureterorenoscopy for the treatment of calculi and renal-ureteral tumors—a technique he was the first to pioneer in Italy in 1984.

From 2005 to 2023, Dr. Cremona served as the head of the Urology Unit at the Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio in Milan.

Since 2009, he has concentrated on innovations in the treatment of post-operative urinary incontinence with the Advance stent.

Dr. Cremona performs numerous urological surgeries both “open” and endoscopic, acting as the lead surgeon in over 350 procedures annually. These include radical retropubic prostatectomies, transurethral and transvesical prostate adenomectomies, transurethral resections of bladder tumors, ureterorenoscopies (for calculi and renal-ureteral tumors, and pyelo-ureteral junction stenosis), nephrectomies for renal tumors, urethropexy with Advance stent, and total cystectomies.

He has participated in 56 national congresses and courses, as well as 27 international ones. Dr. Cremona has also published several scientific articles in both Italian and international journals, such as the European Journal of Urology, often focusing on the treatment of bladder tumors and renal-ureteral calculi.
