Biography

Dr. Maurizio Bonfichi is a hematologist at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1980. In 1984, he obtained a specialization in General Hematology, and later in 1989, he also specialized in Internal Medicine from the same university.

In 1981, he completed a qualifying internship in Internal Medicine at the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo’s Medical Pathology unit, which he continued to attend as a resident in Hematology and Internal Medicine.

From 1985 to 1991, he received research scholarships as a hospital researcher at the Hematology Institute of the IRCCS Policlinico S. Matteo Foundation in Pavia, focusing on various aspects of clinical and laboratory hematology, including autologous and allogeneic bone marrow/stem cell transplantation.

He completed training at foreign institutions on procedures related to hematological issues (hematopoietic stem cell separation and their clinical applications) at the Patterson Institute in Manchester in 1994.

In 1991, he was hired at the Hematology Clinic of the IRCCS Policlinico S. Matteo Foundation in Pavia, where he became a permanent assistant in 1995.

At the clinic, Dr. Bonfichi was in charge of the specialized clinic for Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphomas and treated oncohematological patients, particularly those with lymphoproliferative disorders.

Since October 2022, he has been working at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia, where he is a Specialist in Hematology, focusing on all aspects of Clinical Hematology, particularly patients with lymphoproliferative disorders.
