Biography

Dr. Matteo Coppini is a neurosurgeon and the head of the Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Unit at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo.

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence in 2008. In 2016, he completed his specialization in Neurosurgery at the University of Milan.

Dr. Coppini began his career with Prof. Nicola Di Lorenzo at the Neurosurgery Department of the CTO Hospital, Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Careggi in Florence.

After relocating to Milan, he worked for five years with Prof. Marco Cenzato at the Neurosurgery Department of the Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda. During this period, he refined his skills in tumor, vascular, and traumatic pathology affecting both the brain and spine, graduating with the highest honors.

Over the years, Dr. Coppini has participated in numerous national and international courses and congresses to deepen his knowledge and advanced surgical techniques, particularly concerning degenerative spine disorders.

He has worked for over a year as a senior medical officer at the Neurosurgery Departments of ASST Cremona and ASST Carlo Poma in Mantova.

From January 2018 to October 2019, he worked at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.

Since November 2019, Dr. Coppini has been the Head of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano.

He serves as a tutor for all minimally invasive spinal approaches (anterior, lateral, and posterior).

Dr. Coppini is a visiting surgeon in Italian hospitals where he performs spine surgeries using both minimally invasive and traditional anterior and posterior approaches.

He also performs spinal surgeries (cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral) using both minimally invasive and traditional techniques.
