Massimo Laus
Biography
Dr. Massimo Laus is an orthopedic surgeon at Villa Erbosa.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery with honors and "Dignity of Print" for his thesis from the University of Bologna in 1977. He specialized with honors in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1980, and obtained a specialization in Vascular Surgery with honors in 1985.
In 1988, Dr. Laus was recognized as a confirmed Researcher at the University of Bologna. His professional journey includes:
- 1978-1989: Hospital Assistant at CTO Bologna and IECP Cortina d'Ampezzo.
- 1989-1995: Senior Assistant at the Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Bologna, Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute.
- 1995-2019: Director of the Complex Structure of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Policlinico di S. Orsola in Bologna.
- 2012-2015: Director of the Department at the Policlinico di S. Orsola in Bologna.
Currently at Villa Erbosa, he focuses on hip and knee prosthetic surgery and prosthetic revisions. Over his career, he has performed more than 7,700 major orthopedic surgeries, with a significant emphasis on hip and knee prosthetics, prosthetic revisions, and spinal surgery.
As a researcher, Dr. Laus has published over 100 articles in national and international journals on Orthopedics and Traumatology, particularly in the fields of prosthetic, spinal, and oncological surgery. He is also the author of a comprehensive 520-page monograph on spinal pathology.
