Mario Previtali
Biography
Dr. Mario Previtali is a cardiology consultant at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia and the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1974, where he later specialized in Cardiology in 1977 and in Phthisiology and Respiratory Diseases in 1981.
Dr. Previtali has served as a university researcher at the Cardiology Department of the University of Pavia, an associate professor in the same department, and as a lecturer for the cardiology courses in both the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the Cardiology Specialization School at the University of Pavia.
His main areas of interest include:
- Acute and chronic ischemic heart disease;
- Takotsubo Syndrome;
- Diagnosis and treatment of heart failure;
- Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography;
- Stress echocardiography.
He has authored 104 scientific papers published in national and international journals indexed in the Index Medicus and has contributed to various book chapters, including the chapter on "LV Ballooning Syndrome" for the online edition of the Harrison Textbook of Medicine.
Dr. Previtali has presented over 200 papers at national and international congresses and is a peer reviewer for numerous cardiology journals, including the European Heart Journal, European Journal of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation-Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging, International Journal of Cardiology, and the Giornale Italiano di Cardiologia.
