Biography
Dr. Mariateresa Capuano is a dietitian at INCO – National Institute for the Treatment of Obesity – at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.
After earning her degree in Dietetics from the University of Turin, she continued her studies with a specialization in Human Nutrition Sciences at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, graduating in 2014 with top honors (110/110 cum laude).
She focuses on nutritional education and the management of patients undergoing bariatric surgery, both in the preoperative and postoperative phases. Her outpatient activities include monitoring weight progress, measuring anthropometric data, collecting dietary history, and developing personalized nutrition plans.
She works within a multidisciplinary team made up of a dietitian, surgeon, and psychologist, offering integrated and comprehensive care for overweight and obese patients, supporting the development of dietary plans designed to optimize surgical outcomes.
She has also contributed to scientific research, co-authoring two publications, the most recent of which was published in 2024.
