Maria Elena Ferro
Biography
Dr. Maria Elena Ferro is an ophthalmologist at the Ophthalmology Unit of Policlinico San Marco.
She earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome and specialized in Ophthalmology at the University of Messina in 1999.
During her specialization, she actively participated in ward and operating room activities, focusing her research particularly on pediatric ophthalmology.
She also dedicated her studies to vitreoretinal pathology and the application of fluorescein angiography and laser treatments.
Dr. Ferro began her career at Policlinico San Marco in 2002 as the head of the fluorescein angiography and laser service, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases.
Over the years, she has continued to enhance her knowledge by attending numerous continuing education courses in Ophthalmology and national conferences, where she has also presented as a speaker. She is the author of numerous scientific articles published in both national and international journals.
Additionally, she is a member of several scientific societies, including the Italian Ophthalmological Society, the Italian Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology, the Sicilian Ophthalmological Society, and the Italian Retina Society.
