Biography

Dr. Marco Dei Poli is an anesthesiologist and intensivist at the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Service of Policlinico San Pietro.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1977 and later specialized in Medical Nephrology and Anesthesia and Intensive Care in 1980 and 1983, respectively. In 1987, he obtained a specialization in Food Science with a focus on Dietetics. Additionally, he is certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor and an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider, following the guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA).

Since 2003, Dr. Dei Poli has served as the Head of the Multi-specialty Anesthesia and General Intensive Care Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan.

He is also a Contract Professor and Tutor at the School of Specialization in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of Milan, where he has previously held a contract professorship in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.

Since 2004, he has been the local coordinator for the Margherita 2 / Pro Safe Project of the Italian Group for the Evaluation of Intensive Care Interventions (GiViTi) and since 2006, the North Italian Transplant (NIT) representative at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

Dr. Dei Poli is a member of the Editorial Board of the ECM Provider Medical Evidence, the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation, and Intensive Care (SIAARTI), the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), and the European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN).
