Marco Brayda-Bruno

Biography

Dr. Marco Brayda-Bruno has been the Head of the Department of Spine Surgery III at the Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi Clinical Research Institute in Milan since 2000.

He graduated with honors from the University of Turin, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1979, where he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1982.

From 1980 to 1999 he was an assistant and then assistant in spinal surgery at the Scoliosis Center of the Istituto Chirurgico Ortopedico Regina Maria Adelaide Institute in Turin.

Between 1985 and 1996, he completed several postgraduate programs in Europe, Israel and the United States. Since 1991 he has been teaching in Italy and abroad as a visiting professor at various universities in Brazil and Argentina.

In 1999, he became the Head of the Department of Spine Diseases at the Istituto Clinico San Siro in Milan.

He is the author and co-author of various books and over a hundred articles in national and international journals. In addition, he is a member of various scientific societies, both Italian and international, including the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Italian Society for Diseases of the Spine - Italian Scoliosis Group, Eurospine and Scoliosis Research Society, where he is and was earlier the Head of the Committee of Education.

Dr. Marco Brayda-Bruno has been involved in various researches in the fields of biomechanics and spine biology and has coordinated several research projects in Italy and Europe. Since the end of 2018, he has been the Director of Spine Research at the Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi Clinical Research Institute.
