Biography

Dr. Luca Santoleri is the Head of the Transfusion Center and the Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine Service at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. His professional journey began with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, where he became licensed to practice medicine in 1996. He later specialized in Hematology at the University of Pavia, graduating with honors.

Throughout his career, Dr. Santoleri has held several notable positions, including Consultant in Transfusion Medicine at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, part of the San Donato Hospital Group. He has also served as a Representative for the Italian Group for Bone Marrow Transplantation, Hematopoietic Stem Cells, and Cellular Therapy, overseeing the collection of peripheral and bone marrow stem cells. Additionally, he was the Collection Facility Director for SIMT at Niguarda Hospital as part of the JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee ISCT-EBMT) accreditation project.

From 2006 to 2011, Dr. Santoleri was the Quality Assurance Manager at Niguarda Ca’ Granda Hospital in Milan, where he played a key role in the accreditation of stem cell transplant centers adhering to the Italian Association of Hematology and Pediatric Oncology.

Author and co-author of over 100 scientific articles in national and international journals, he is a member of the Italian Society of Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine and serves as the Regional Delegate and National Board Member of the Italian Society of Apheresis and Cellular Manipulation.
