Luca Bordoni
Biography
Dr. Luca Bordoni is the Head of the Functional Unit of Proctology and Pelvic Floor Disorders at the Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.
In 1992, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, where he specialized in Emergency and Trauma Surgery in 1997.
From 1990 to 1995, he worked in the Department, Operating Room, and Digestive Endoscopy at the Division of Emergency Surgery at the Policlinico Hospital of Milan as an internal student and surgical resident. He also participated in departmental and operating room activities at the Hospital of Lerida (Spain) through the Erasmus program as a resident with a scholarship from the University of Milan (1994).
Other departmental and operating room experience includes work at the Division of General Surgery at the Hospital of Cittiglio (VA) as a resident (1996-1997).
He worked in the Emergency Department at the Casa di Cura Mater Domini in Castellanza as a freelance professional (1997). In 1998, he was appointed to the Anesthesia Service at the Hospital of Cittiglio on a temporary basis.
In 1999, he became a permanent Medical Director at the Emergency Department (Critical and Traumatological Area) of the Circolo Hospital-Varese (1999).
He served as a Medical Director of General Surgery, including Digestive Endoscopy, at the Macchi Hospital-Varese (Cittiglio facility 2000-2001, Varese facility 2002-2016).
In 2000 and 2001, he attended the "Colorectal Eporediensis Centre" (Ivrea), actively participating in operating room, departmental, and outpatient activities.
From 2013 to 2017, he was the Head of the Proctology Unit at the ASST Sette Laghi of Varese, and since November 2016, he has been part of the Functional Unit of Proctology and Pelviperineology at Humanitas Gavazzeni.
Since January 2017, he has been the Head of the General and Proctological Surgery Unit at Gruppo Iseni Sanità (Lonate Pozzolo, VA), and since January 2022, he has been the Head of the Functional Unit of Proctology and Pelvic Floor Disorders at the Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.
Dr. Bordoni specializes in Proctology and Pelviperineology, with a particular focus on the study and treatment of rectal, bladder, vaginal, and uterine prolapses, including the use of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He also addresses hemorrhoidal disease, fissures, fistulas, and condylomas.
He has participated in numerous national and international conferences as a speaker and expert.
