Biography

Professor Lorenzo Pignataro is the Director of the Surgical Department of the Ca'Granda Foundation Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan, as well as the Director of the Department of Operative Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.

He is the director of the specialized School of Otolaryngology and Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Milan.

At Casa di Cura La Madonnina, Professor Pignataro carries out his clinical activities privately. In particular, he is engaged in clinical care in the field of specialty of choice and neonatal/pediatric emergency care, as well as the treatment of adult patients.

The most modern methods are used here, such as laser surgery, salivary gland surgery, minimally invasive laryngeal surgery, oncological surgery of the head and neck, orbital surgery, in particular, for basal orbitopathy. After graduating from the University of Milan with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, he continues his studies at the same institute with a specialization in otolaryngology and pathology of the head and neck. His research activity is confirmed by numerous participation as a speaker in congresses and panels, both at the national and international level, resulting in about 260 reports in the form of abstracts. 

Professor Lorenzo Pignataro is the author of more than 120 scientific articles published in Italian and foreign journals, in which important bibliometric results have been obtained. In fact, his speeches have a total impact factor (ISI) equal to 199.103, with the Hirsch index (Scopus Science Direct), which is 14, and the total number of citations (Scopus Science Direct) is 644.
