Lelio Morricone
Biography
Dr. Lelio Francesco Morricone is the Head of the Clinical Nutrition and Cardiometabolic Prevention Service at Palazzo della Salute - Wellness, and a Contract Professor at the School of Specialization in Food Science at the University of Milan. He also collaborates with IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan and later specialized with honors in Endocrinology at the University of Genoa. He then completed a second specialization, again with honors, in Food Science at the University of Milan.
Dr. Morricone’s clinical focus is on the diagnosis, clinical management, and treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. He has always been involved in the clinical assessment, treatment, and research protocols related to obesity. He is the author of 37 publications in indexed journals, 13 articles in non-indexed periodicals, and several book chapters.
He is a founding member of the Italian Obesity Society (SIO), a member of the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE), and a Co-Founder and Scientific Director of the EAT-Sustainable Nutrition Project under the San Donato Group Foundation.
Dr. Morricone organizes congresses on diabetes and obesity topics and participates as a speaker at numerous continuing education events (ECM) for specialists and general practitioners.
