Biography
Dr. Giuseppe Coletti is the Head of the Cardiac Surgery Unit, Section 2, at the Istituto Clinico San Rocco in Ome.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Perugia in 1981. In 1987, he obtained his specialization in Cardiac Surgery from the University of Bari.
In addition to various international experiences, Dr. Coletti worked as a Senior House Officer at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge (UK) and was a Senior Resident at the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.
From 2011 to 2018, he served as the Acting Director of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at Spedali Civili di Brescia.
Since 2007, Dr. Coletti has led a project on the percutaneous implantation of aortic valve prostheses, both with and without extracorporeal circulation assistance, employing innovative techniques such as the transaortic approach in mini-sternotomy, establishing himself as a national training reference.
He also initiated procedures for the transcatheter implantation of mitral valve prostheses via the transapical approach and the closure of periprothetic leaks via the transapical approach at the Cardiothoracic Department of Spedali Civili di Brescia.
He has been a lecturer for the course on the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias with implantable systems: techniques and technologies at the Electrophysiology Service of Spedali Civili di Brescia.
Dr. Coletti has been a member of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery.
