Giulio Mercandalli

Dr. Giulio Mercandalli is the head of the Vascular Surgery Unit at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio. He also collaborates with Palazzo della Salute Wellness Clinic and Smart Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2003 with top marks and obtained his specialization in Vascular Surgery from the same university in 2008.

From 2001 to 2008, he trained at the San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan, first as a student and then as a resident.

In 2006, he was a Visiting Physician at the Gonda Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Division, Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN, USA, under the direction of Prof. Peter Gloviczky. In 2009, he was a First-Level Medical Director at the IGEA Clinic.

From 2010 to 2022, he worked at the Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio as an expert in the surgical and endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms, lower limb aneurysms, carotid stenosis, and peripheral artery disease, also managing all diagnostic aspects (color Doppler ultrasound).

Since December 2022, he has been responsible for the Vascular Surgery Unit at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio.

Dr. Mercandalli is also specialized in the surgical treatment of lower limb venous diseases.
