Giulio Lasagna
Biography
Dr. Giulio Lasagna is the head of the Operating Unit – Section 1 – of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Istituto Clinico San Rocco in Brescia. He got his degree in Medicine and Surgery in Genoa (1993), then in 2006 he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in University of Brescia.
He has performed more than 5,000 hip and knee prosthetic surgeries including first implants, revisions, and correction of dysmorphisms. Dr. Lasagna is the author of numerous articles in specialized journals such as Minerva Orthopaedics Traumatology and the Italian Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
His research concerns prosthetics for torsion defects of the lower limb; advancement in surgical technology and the interaction of forms and materials in prosthetics; evolution of the periprosthetic bone using histological, scintigraphic and radiographic studies; treatment of septic complications after hip replacement; friction wear; prosthetics for valgus knee deformity; revision of the hip joint with severe bone loss and axial deviation of the femoral diaphysis.
Since the early 2000s, Dr. Giulio Lasagna has participated as a speaker in several congresses organized by the Piedmont-Lombard Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SPILLOT). He attends refresher courses in Italy and Switzerland on issues of knee, hip, and shoulder trauma surgery and related prostheses.
