Biography
Dr. Giulia Pasqualin is a cardiologist at the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology and Hemodynamics Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.
She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Verona in 2014 and specialized in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2019. She then continued her training with full marks at the University of Bologna, earning a Level II Master’s Degree in Pediatric and Developmental Age Cardiology (2021) and a PhD in Cardio-Nephro-Thoracic Sciences (2025).
During her studies, she completed an observership in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance at Boston Children’s Hospital and later a Research Fellowship at the Boston Adult Congenital Heart and Pulmonary Hypertension Program at Harvard Medical School, MA (USA).
Dr. Pasqualin specializes in:
- performing and reporting Cardiac Magnetic Resonance in children and adults, for which she holds European certification (EACVI CMR CHD level 3);
- transthoracic echocardiography;
- clinical management of pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease.
Her research focuses on the application of cardiovascular imaging in the diagnosis and clinical prognosis of congenital heart diseases. She actively participates in national and international research projects and has contributed to scientific publications in the field.
In 2022, Dr. Pasqualin received the Federico Marsico Award from the Italian Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease for her coordinated research on intraventricular flow dynamics in the systemic right ventricle, conducted in collaboration with the 3D Imaging Laboratory.
Since 2020, she has collaborated with the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, teaching and tutoring students and residents in the Cardiology program. She is part of the faculty in training courses and conferences nationally and internationally. She is an active member of the CMR/CT Working Group of the Italian Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease and, since 2025, an elected representative of the Imaging Working Group of the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology.
