Biography

Prof. Giovanni Nano is the Head of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan, and collaborates with Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

He is Associate Professor for Vascular Surgery in the University of Milan.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan and specialized in Vascular Surgery (1995). Dr Nano is one of the first doctors in Italy to deal with the treatment of endovascular aneurysms. In 1995, he attended the Instituto Cardiovascular de Buenos Aires directed by Prof. Parodi, pioneer of endovascular methods. In 1998, he did an internship at the Arizona Heart Institute, USA, attending the advanced course in Vascular Surgery and Treatment of Arteriopathies.

His specific field of interest is in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Angiology. In the academic field, he is an organizer and coordinator of the advanced courses in Endovascular Therapy and Surgery at the following universities: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, University of Medicine of Sfax in Tunisia and University of Padova.

Dr. Nano is the author of more than 150 publications with Impact Factor inn accredited journals and Reviewer for Cardiovascular Surgery, Italian Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Annali Italiani di Chirurgia, Annals of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is a member of the Italian Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (SICVE) and the Italian Society of Phlebology (SIF).
