Biography
Dr. Giovanni Micera is the Head of the Orthopedics Unit II for Hip Resurfacing Surgery II at the Istituto Clinico San Siro, where he also collaborates with the Hip Resurfacing Surgery Unit led by Prof. Antonio Moroni. Additionally, he serves as a consultant at Casa di Cura La Madonnina and the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant'Ambrogio.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 2007, then specialized in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the same university. He later obtained a specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Micera has focused on hip and knee prosthetic surgery, with a particular interest in hip resurfacing surgery. He is also an expert in regenerative and infiltrative medicine using ultrasound guidance.
From 2016 to 2020, he was a medical officer at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit of the Bergamaschi Hospital Institutes. Since 2021, he has been a medical officer at the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute and Istituto Clinico San Siro.
Between 2016 and 2017, Dr. Micera served as a contract professor of Musculoskeletal Diseases and Physical Medicine at the University of Bologna. From 2017 to 2018, he was a contract professor for the locomotor system module at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. Since 2022, he has been an adjunct faculty member at UniCamillus Rome.
His expertise is documented in numerous scientific articles published in national and international journals, as well as presentations at conferences, monographs, and book chapters. Dr. Micera has also participated in numerous training courses and national and international congresses.
