Gian Paolo Da Pozzo
Biography
Professor Gian Paolo da Pozzo is a urologist at the Urology Unit of the Istituto Clinico San Rocco.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua in 1971, where he also completed his specialization in Urology in 1974. He later obtained a specialization in Sports Medicine from the University of Rome in 1978.
He began his hospital career in Urology in 1972, progressing from assistant to chief physician, working at hospitals in Belluno, Bolzano, and Brescia, before serving as Head of Urology at Desenzano Hospital from 1996 to 2003.
From 1991 to 2016, he was a Contract Professor in Endoscopic Urology at the Urology Specialization School of the University of Brescia.
Professor da Pozzo has trained at various urological centers in Italy and abroad, engaging in scientific, clinical, and surgical activities. These include:
- The Urological Clinic of Innsbruck, Austria, from 1974 to 1982, where he specialized in Endoscopic Surgery.
- The Rehabilitation Hospital of Bad Haering, Austria, in 1982 and 1984, for the study of neurogenic bladder conditions.
- The Rudolfstiftung Hospital in Vienna, Austria, in 1984, where he specialized in Percutaneous Techniques for kidney stone treatment.
He has also served as a urology consultant at several institutions, including:
- The Fleming Laboratory in Brescia (1988-1990)
- Montichiari Hospital (1983-1991)
- "S. Orsola Fatebenefratelli" Hospital in Brescia (1985-1992)
- Gardone V.T. Hospital (1992-1996), where he performed over 420 surgeries, 400 diagnostic endoscopies, and more than 1,100 specialist consultations.
Since 2003, Professor da Pozzo has been a freelance urology consultant at the Istituto Clinico San Rocco.
He has participated in numerous advanced training courses and over 100 conferences in Italy and abroad.
