Francesco Tana
Biography
Dr. Francesco Tana is a pulmonologist at Istituti Clinici Zucchi.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1972 and subsequently obtained his specialization in Respiratory Diseases and Tuberculosis from the same university in 1975. In 1978, he completed his specialization in Gerontology and Geriatrics in Pavia, and in 1982 in Respiratory Pathophysiology and Physiotherapy.
He served as the deputy head in Pulmonology at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, where he was responsible for the Respiratory Pathophysiology Unit. Later, he became the acting director of the complex unit of the Pneumological Clinic at the University of Milan Bicocca - San Gerardo Hospital, also serving as the deputy director of that unit.
From 1989 to 1999, he held a teaching position at the Professional Nursing School of USSL 64 in Monza, and later at the University Nursing Diploma School, teaching Medical Pathology in the first year and General Pathophysiology in the second year.
At the University of Milan-Bicocca, he was a lecturer in Respiratory Diseases at the Midwifery Diploma School, a contract professor of pulmonology in the Medicine degree course, and an instructor at the postgraduate specialization school for General Practitioners. Additionally, since 2011, he has been a contract professor in the university diploma course for physiotherapists.
He is also very interested in updating General Practitioners, having delivered numerous presentations at update meetings and written a summary of respiratory pathophysiology.
He is the author of around one hundred studies and abstracts published in national and international journals, as well as a volume on the critical analysis of respiratory function tests.
