Francesco Perdisa
Biography
Dr. Francesco Perdisa is an Orthopedic Surgeon at the Orthopedics Unit 9 at Villa Erbosa and collaborates with Villa Chiara in Bologna.
After earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 2010, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2017 at the same university, with training conducted at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute.
In 2012, Dr. Perdisa served as a Clinical and Research Fellow at the Yonsei Serang Institute in Seoul, South Korea, under Dr. Yong Gon Koh, focusing on regenerative medicine for degenerative knee conditions, particularly the use of mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue and bone marrow.
During his specialization, he conducted research on sports-related injuries, osteoarthritis, and regenerative techniques for cartilage damage in the knee, actively participating in national and international research projects. He also completed several international training programs, working alongside leading global specialists in knee pathology.
In 2017, he undertook a clinical fellowship at the Knee Surgery Unit at AZ Monica in Antwerp, Belgium, led by Dr. Koen Lagae and Prof. Peter Verdonk. He was awarded the Master Arthroscopist Prize by SIGASCOT, recognizing young knee surgeons, and was selected for the prestigious SIGASCOT-JOSKAS Traveling Fellowship, which allowed him to train in six university centers across Japan, focusing on knee surgery for athletes.
From 2018 to 2022, Dr. Perdisa served as a medical officer in the "Prosthetic and Revision Surgery for Hip and Knee" department at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna.
Dr. Perdisa specializes in:
