Biography

Dr. Flavio Tarantino is an anesthesiologist and intensive care physician at the Intensive Care and Anesthesia Service of Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1974 from the University of Milan, obtaining his specialization in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in 1976 from the same university. Since 1985, he has been registered as a non-specialist dentist in the Dental Register.

From 1974 to 1982, he served as the First Assistant at the Hospital of Desio and later became an Assistant Anesthetist at the Hospital of Legnano. From 1982 to 1998, he focused on dental practice, managing private practices and providing consultancy in oral surgery and implantology in various clinics across Italy.

During this time, he also performed marginal anesthesia and co-owned a dental implant company (I.D.I. of Vimercate). He is the creator of the "Global System" implant system and holds an international patent from 2002 for Autologous Fibrin Glue.

From 1999 to 2008, Dr. Tarantino worked as a consultant in several medical facilities, including Multimedica, Humanitas Rozzano, and Humanitas Gavazzeni. He served as the Head of Anesthesia at Istituti Clinici Iseni in Lonate Pozzolo and was responsible for Cardiothoracic Intensive Care at "European Hospital," while also practicing in various other locations.

In 2009, he gained international experience, working with "Emergency" at the Cardio Salam Center in Khartoum, Sudan, and serving as the personal physician to Cardinal Bernard Agré in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

He returned to Italy in 2010 and became Head of Anesthesia and Pain Therapy at Istituti Clinici Iseni. Between 2010 and 2023, he had extensive experience in Metropolitan France, primarily in Obstetrics at various facilities, including Pool Santé Sud in Le Mans, Guyana, and Martinique.

In 2023, Dr. Tarantino returned to Italy to resume his dental implant surgery practice and began a master's program in Maxillofacial Surgery for extreme atrophy at San Raffaele.

Early in his career with the San Donato Milanese group, he focused on outpatient hemodialysis and participated in clinical research on extracorporeal oxygenation. He also studied chronic and acute renal insufficiency, publishing in *The Lancet* in 1980. From 1985 to 2002, he specialized in implantology and bone reconstruction using an innovative implant system and Autologous Fibrin Glue.
