Federica Fioravanti

Dr. Federica Fioravanti is an ophthalmologist at Villa Chiara in Bologna.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna in 2011, she specialized with honors in Ophthalmology at the same university in 2016.

Dr. Fioravanti has completed numerous study and work stays in the United States, particularly at the Retina Associates of New York, a center highly specialized in medical and surgical retinal conditions, and at the Mackool Eye Institute in New York, the world’s leading center for cataract and refractive surgery.

She spent time as a Fellow at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in New York and at the Pediatric Ophthalmology Center of New York, where she continues to collaborate on research and work regarding ocular conditions in children and strabismus surgery for both children and adults.

Since 2015, Dr. Fioravanti has spent periods in India performing numerous surgeries.

Since March 2018, she has been volunteering annually, along with a team of American ophthalmic surgeons, in Central America, where she conducts hundreds of eye exams, orthoptic evaluations, and strabismus correction surgeries for children and adults.

Dr. Fioravanti performs cataract surgeries, glaucoma surgeries, strabismus surgeries, eyelid surgeries, and Femto Lasik as the primary operator. She also offers YAG laser treatments for the anterior segment of the eye, Argon laser treatments for retinal conditions, and intravitreal injections for maculopathies.

She actively participates in national and international conferences in her field.
