Biography

Dr. Eugenio Ventimiglia is a urologist in the Surgical Department of Urology at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, headed by Professor Francesco Montorsi.

After graduating in 2013 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Vita Salute San Raffaele University of Milan, he specialized in urology at the same university in 2019. During his studies, he completed a 12-month internship in clinical research at the Regional Cancer Center in Uppsala, Sweden (Prof. Pär Stattin). He also completed an internship at the clinic of the Endourological Society after 18 months of work in the Department of Urology Hôpital Tenon (Paris, Professor Olivier Traxer), has a diploma from the University of Urology at the Sorbonne. He currently holds a doctorate in epidemiology from Uppsala University in Sweden.

Dr. Ventimiglia focuses his clinical interest mainly on minimally invasive endoscopic treatment of urinary stones (flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy) and urothelial neoplasia of the upper excretory tract; on diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation of infertile couples; as well as on major andrological pathologies (erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, Peyronie's disease or plastic penile induration).

As a researcher, Dr. Ventimiglia deals with the surgical, metabolic and epidemiological aspects of urinary stones, as well as the pathophysiological and epidemiological aspects of infertility of couples. Other subjects of study are epidemiology and clinical outcomes of patients with andrological diseases, as well as epidemiological aspects of population registers. He is the author and co-author of 86 publications in indexed international scientific journals. His Hirsch index is 15. He constantly participates in national and international industry congresses, where his works have received a total of 12 awards. Acts as a reviewer for the most important international scientific journals in this sector. He is fluent in Italian, English and French.
