Biography

Dr. Ennio Leggieri is a general practitioner, allergist and rheumatologist at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

In 1980 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, where in 1983 he received a specialization in allergology and clinical immunology. In 1988, he also received a diploma of higher education in internal medicine.

From 1984 to 1992 , he was an assistant at the Medical Department of Policlinico San Donato under the guidance of Prof. Fulvio Invernizzi, then headed the Department of Internal Medicine and held this position until 2018. Currently engaged in specialized outpatient activities in the field of allergology and clinical immunology, rheumatology and internal diseases.

Dr. Leggieri deals with allergic diseases of the respiratory, skin and gastrointestinal systems and systemic autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus - SLE, progressive systemic sclerosis, Sjogren's syndrome, myositis, etc.), arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthropathy, spondyloarthropathy, etc.) and vasculitis.

For many years, his research activity has focused on allergic diseases and autoimmune pathogenesis (conjunctivitis, arthritis, vasculitis), and its results have been the publication of numerous scientific papers in Italian and international journals (about 100) and participation in Italian and international congresses.
