Biography

Dr. Emmanuele Giglio is a dietitian in the Bariatric Surgery Unit at Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano.

In 2014, he graduated with honors in Dietetics from the University of Milan.

Immediately after graduation, Dr. Giglio began working in various centers of excellence within SICOB (Italian Society of Obesity Surgery), specializing in bariatric surgery. He focuses on the nutritional management of patients undergoing bariatric surgery, following them through both the pre-operative and post-operative phases.

He also provides nutritional consultations and develops personalized diet plans for patients in general and oncological surgery units. Additionally, he creates personalized dietary plans for individuals with normal or overweight conditions.

In the Bariatric Surgery Unit, Dr. Giglio is responsible for several activities:

  • Managing the team of dietitians in the unit.
  • Conducting eligibility assessments for bariatric surgery.
  • Performing nutritional follow-up visits.
  • Holding individual consultations and leading group sessions on dietary re-education for post-surgery patients.
  • Providing nutritional consultations and personalized diet plans for general surgery units.
  • Leading psycho-nutritional support groups for bariatric patients.
  • Annually drafting a recipe book aimed at patients who have undergone bariatric surgery.
