Emilio Emili

Dr. Emilio Emili is a Specialist Urology Consultant at Villa Chiara in Bologna.  

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1978 and later specialized in Urology in 1981, followed by Emergency and General Surgery in 1986 at the same institution.  

Throughout his career, Dr. Emili served as a medical director at the Urology Clinic of the University of Bologna – Sant’Orsola Malpighi Hospital from 1983 to 2005. He then became Head of the Urology Unit at AUSL Imola from 2005 to 2023, Director of the AUSL Imola Surgical Department from 2015 to 2023, and Intercompany Director of the Urology Unit for both AUSL Bologna and AUSL Imola from 2017 to 2019.  

With over 10,000 surgeries performed as the lead surgeon, Dr. Emili specializes in major urological conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, prostate, and testicles.  

He is an expert in advanced treatment of female pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence in both men and women. He also specializes in andrological disorders.  

Since 2008, he has been a board member of the Italian Association of Gynecological Urology and Pelvic Floor Disorders (A.I.U.G.).  

Dr. Emili has authored over 220 scientific publications in national and international urology and urodynamics journals. He actively participates in conferences and courses as a speaker, organizing committee member, or lecturer.
