Biography
Dr. Doris Maria Mascheroni is the Head of the Internal Medicine Unit and the Subacute Care Unit, as well as the coordinator of the Oncology and Hemato-oncology services at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica in Como.
She holds a diploma in Hospital Complex Structure Management and teaches at LUDES University in Lugano. She has lectured at dozens of conferences, including international ones, on specialized medical topics and healthcare management (quality, safety, risk management, etc.).
Under her leadership, Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica received the “Bollino Rosa” award from O.N.D.A. as a women- and vulnerable-friendly hospital for the periods 2010–2011, 2012–2013, 2014–2015, 2016–2018, and 2019–2022. She has received recognition for humanitarian work in Italy and Africa. She has published extensively in scientific journals such as The Journal of Clinical Oncology and Tumori, as well as in popular medical publications, and has presented abstracts at international conferences (e.g., Stockholm, San Francisco).
