Dario Buffoli
Biography
Dr. Dario Buffoli is the Head of several Units at the Policlinico San Pietro in Bergamo, including Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Functional Rehabilitation and Education, Ambulatory Rehabilitation, and the Sub-Acute Care Unit. He is also a physiatrist at Smart Clinic.
His educational journey began with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 1992, where he also obtained his medical license. He later attended the Military Medical School in Florence and, in 2003, specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pavia.
Dr. Buffoli's career started immediately after his degree, with an assignment at the Centro Studi Anziani ’80, where he worked on a pilot project aimed at establishing and activating the Geriatric Assessment Service. He became a Geriatrician for the same center’s Geriatric Assessment Service with Integrated Home Care and served as the Health Director for the "B. Bertella" Geriatric Institute in Sabbio Chiese.
In parallel, he served as a Medical Officer at the Alpine Military School in Aosta, within the Ski-Alpine Section. Since 2000, he has been a lecturer at the Training Course for Social Health Operators in the Lombardy Region. He moved to Brescia to work as an On-Call Doctor and a full-time physician for the Functional Rehabilitation and Education Department at the Istituto Clinico Città di Brescia.
He later served as a First-Level Medical Officer in the Functional Rehabilitation and Education Department at the Salò Hospital, part of the Desenzano del Garda Hospital Company.
Dr. Buffoli is the author of several publications and book chapters and has been a speaker at numerous national congresses. He is a member of scientific societies such as ARSOP (Association of Rehabilitation Specialists in Private Hospitals).
