Corrado Campisi
Biography
Dr. Corrado Campisi is a Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. He actively collaborates with the Lipedema Center at Palazzo della Salute – Wellness Clinic, bringing his know-how and experience, with a particular focus on patients undergoing treatment for lipedema and lymphedema.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2008 from the University of Genoa, where he also earned a specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2014. He furthered his education by completing a PhD in Experimental Surgery and Microsurgery at the University of Pavia. His advanced training includes the International Master’s Degree in Reconstructive Microsurgery (MRM) from the Reconstructive Microsurgery European School in Barcelona (Spain), a university Master in Clinical Lymphology, Lymphatic Surgery and Microsurgery from the University of Genoa, and an Executive Master in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Administration (EMPHA) from LUISS Business School in Rome.
During his specialization, Dr. Campisi worked as a surgeon and researcher in several university departments (General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Functional and Metabolic Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Surgical Semiology and Breast Surgery, ENT) and multidisciplinary centers (Burn Center, Orthopedic Trauma Center) across numerous Italian and international hospitals. This helped him refine not only his clinical and research expertise, but also his leadership skills for coordinating integrated multidisciplinary treatment centers.
Throughout his career, he has also completed clinical and research training abroad, notably at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (USA), the University of Arizona in Phoenix and Tucson (USA), and Columbia University in New York (USA). His focus included diseases such as obesity, lymphedema, and lipedema, as well as the prevention of lymphedema following breast cancer surgery, with important results published and presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Campisi has dedicated his career to the treatment of lymphatic disorders, particularly lymphedema and lipedema. He was elected President of the International Society of Lymphology (ISL) for the 2025–2027 term. He is the inventor of the FLLA-LVSP technique (Functional Lymph-Lipoaspiration – Lymph Vessel Sparing), a functional liposuction method that aims to preserve lymphatic structures during surgery. He also performs a wide range of advanced reconstructive microsurgical procedures for the effective treatment of complex lymphatic conditions.

In 2020, he received a prestigious award from LE&RN (Lymphatic Education & Research Network) for certified excellence in lymphedema and lipedema surgery, recognizing the quality of care provided at the Campisi Clinic in Genoa (Italy), which he directs.
Dr. Corrado Campisi is also the author and co-author of over 100 scientific publications in national and international journals. His research focuses on lymphatic diseases, the lymphedema–lipedema connection, and modern techniques in plastic surgery.
