Biography

Dr. Claudio Grignani is an internist at the Internal Medicine Unit of the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 2006.In 2012, he earned a diploma in ultrasound from the SIUMB School of Infectious Diseases at the San Matteo Polyclinic in Pavia. That same year, he also completed a specialization in Internal Medicine with honors at the Clinical Medicine Unit of the San Matteo Polyclinic in Pavia.

Since 2007, Dr. Grignani has been involved in patient care in Internal Medicine wards. From 2007 to 2012, he worked at the III Medical Clinic of San Matteo in Pavia. Since 2012, he has been serving in the ward at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano. Dr. Grignani was the lead internist managing a COVID ward during both waves of the pandemic. Currently, he oversees biologic drug therapy for the treatment of autoimmune diseases in the hospital’s day hospital (DH).

He is also involved in the diagnosis and treatment of acute conditions, particularly in elderly patients with multiple pathologies. He performs invasive procedures such as:

  • Thoracentesis
  • Paracentesis
  • Bone biopsy
  • Liver biopsy

Dr. Grignani manages the internal medicine outpatient clinic for chronic patients and the abdominal ultrasound clinic. In the internal medicine outpatient clinic, he prescribes and renews therapeutic plans for new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) and monoclonal antibodies used in osteoporosis treatment.
