Biography

Dr. Clara Terzaghi is an orthopedic surgeon in the Orthopedic Surgery Unit at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2003, where she also completed her specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2009.

In 2005, Dr. Terzaghi participated in a Sigascot Aircast Travelling Fellowship across Basel, Munich, Heidelberg, and Cologne. She completed a Visiting Fellowship at CUF Descobertas Hospital in Lisbon in 2011, a Visiting and Research Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago in 2015, and another Visiting Fellowship at Lyon-Ortho-Clinic the same year.

Since 2017, she has been a Faculty Member of the Ankle Faculty of the Italian Arthroscopy Society (now SIAGASCOT) and a member of the Italian Sports Medicine Federation (FMSI).

Dr. Terzaghi specializes in:

  • Minimally invasive and fast-track hip and knee prosthetic surgery
  • Arthroscopic and reparative knee and ankle surgery

She has expertise in sports injury treatments, hip and knee surgery (primarily through minimally invasive techniques), cartilage pathology, and ankle and foot surgery. She performs intra-articular and ultrasound-guided hip injections and specializes in treating inflammatory tendon-muscle pathology and bone overload conditions using focused shockwaves.

With over 50 publications in international and national journals and an H-index of 12, Dr. Terzaghi has also authored chapters in the book *"Ankle Joint Arthroscopy - A Step-by-Step Guide"*, published by Springer. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and has organized numerous congresses as both scientific secretary and president.
