Biography

Dr. Christian Baraldi is a vascular surgeon at the General Surgery Unit of Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catanzaro in 1997. In 2000, he completed a specialization in Cardio-Vascular Surgery at the Hospital de Mont Godine of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and in 2001, he obtained a specialization in Cardio-Thoracic-Vascular Surgery at the Hospital de Cruces in Barakaldo (Bilbao), Spain. He specialized in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Siena in 2002. Finally, in 2005, he completed a specialization in endovascular aortic surgery at the Cardiological Hospital CHU of Lille, France, and in 2007, he finished a specialization in endovenous surgery in Rome.

Dr. Baraldi's areas of expertise include:

  • Vascular diagnostics
  • Minimally invasive surgical procedures on the superficial venous system using Laser techniques, Sclerotherapy, Cyanoacrylate Glue, and MOCA
  • Arterial vascular surgery of the lower limbs, both open and endovascular
  • Ischemic limb salvage and Diabetic Foot
  • Vulnology

He has performed over 7,000 minimally invasive endovenous surgeries with laser and sclerotherapy, as well as other techniques. He has conducted over 1,000 open and endovascular arterial surgeries.

In the field of research, Dr. Baraldi focuses on new techniques and devices for the treatment of varicose veins.

He has 21 publications to his name and participates in and organizes national and international conferences in his field. He is the director of the International Live Venous Symposium, a prestigious global event. He is a member of scientific societies such as SICVE, SIDV (of which he is the regional coordinator), and SIF.
