Chiara Urbano
Biography
Dr. Chiara Maria Urbano is an orthoptist at the Ophthalmology Unit and head of ophthalmological diagnostics at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.
She graduated in Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Assistance from the University of Pavia in 2014. In 2020, she earned a Master's degree in Optics and Optometry from Esneca Business School in Madrid.
Dr. Urbano specializes in pediatric prevention and visual rehabilitation for patients with neurological issues, low vision, post-surgical eye conditions, and specific learning disabilities (DSA). With over 10 years of experience in visual rehabilitation, she is the founder of visual telematic protocols. Her professional activities began with an interest in pediatric strabismus and ocular muscle surgery.
Over the years, she has specialized in corneal eye diagnostics, deepening her expertise in the field. She has also gained experience in the operating room during procedures for:
- Cataract surgery
- Corneal cross-linking
- Refractive surgery
- Vitrectomy
Currently, she focuses on visual rehabilitation and enhancing residual vision in both pediatric and adult patients.
