Chiara Perrone
Biography
Dr. Chiara Perrone is a geriatric physician and the Head of the Subacute Care Unit at the Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Monza.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1996 and specialized in Geriatrics four years later at the same university.
Dr. Perrone completed her residency in the Geriatrics department at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, where she conducted clinical ward activities and outpatient care (psychogeriatrics clinic). Between 2001 and 2010, she worked as a geriatric physician and clinical coordinator at several nursing homes and rehabilitation centers in the provinces of Monza and Brianza and Como.
In 2010, she began her work at Istituti Clinici Zucchi as an internist in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation and became the Head of the Geriatrics and Subacute Care Unit in June 2020, where she primarily manages patients requiring complex parenteral therapies and clinical stabilization.
Her focus is on geriatrics, particularly the clinical assessment of patients with dementia and anxiety-depressive syndrome. She has gained experience in neuropsychological screening, pharmacological therapy for behavioral disorders, and follow-up care for patients on acetylcholinesterase inhibitors.
Dr. Perrone was responsible for the Subacute Care Unit and COVID Medicine Unit at ICZ Monza from October 2020 to May 2021. She actively participates in geriatric and internal medicine courses, conferences, and seminars.
