Biography

Prof. Cesare Maria Cornaggia is the Head of the Simple Unit of Cognitive Neurorehabilitation at Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Carate Brianza and an Associate Professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan-Bicocca.

At the same university, he serves as the President of the Physiotherapy Degree Program and the Director of the Specialization School in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1979 from the University of Milan and specialized in Psychiatry in 1983. Subsequently, he worked as a researcher at the Neurological Clinic of the University of Berlin and at the Epilepsy Zentrum Bethel in Bielefeld before returning to Italy.

Throughout his career, he has held numerous roles as Head and Director of Clinical Units in Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and Neurophysiology at hospitals in Monza, Bergamo, and Castiglione delle Stiviere.

Prof. Cornaggia's primary research fields include:

  • Linguistic analysis in certain mental and neurological disorders
  • Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures
  • Behavioral and psychiatric aspects of intellectual disability
  • Psychopathology in epilepsy
  • Psychopathology of post-traumatic conditions
  • Aggression in psychiatric patients

He actively participates in numerous courses and conferences organized by both Italian and international scientific societies each year. His scientific contributions include over 100 indexed publications across national and international journals and book chapters.
