Biography

Prof. Cecilia Perin is the Head of the Specialized Rehabilitation Unit for Severe Brain Injuries at Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Carate Brianza and an Associate Professor in Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Milan-Bicocca. At the same university, she also serves as the Director of the School of Specialization in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and as Chair of the Academic Coordination Board for the Degree Programs in Neuro and Psychomotor Therapy of Developmental Age and in Physiotherapy.

Her academic journey began in Milan, where she earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1984, followed by a specialization in Neurology in 1989, with a thesis on frontal functions and Parkinson's disease.

Prof. Perin specializes in Neuropsychology, where she demonstrates extensive expertise in diagnostic, testing, psychometric, and rehabilitation techniques. In her clinical roles, she oversees the Rehabilitation Day Hospital and the cognitive rehabilitation clinic, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of neurorehabilitation patients.

With over 25 years of experience in academic teaching, she has participated in more than seventy national and international conferences. Notable among her contributions are her participation in the national project "CCM Functioning and Disability in SV and SMC" in 2009 and the national project "Underutilization of Intensive Rehabilitation Hospitalizations" in 2016. She is a member of the Italian Society of Neurological Rehabilitation (SIRN) and the Italian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (SIMFER).

Prof. Perin is co-author of 122 publications in national and international journals.
