Biography

Dr. Marta Cavalli is an assistant at the Operative Unit of General Surgery - Day&Week Surgery section of the Sant'Ambrogio Clinical Institute. 

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2007. In the same year, she obtained the qualification to practice the profession.

In 2014, she obtained the specialization in General Surgery at the University of Insubria. 

In 2017, she obtained the PhD in Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Catania.

From 2007 to 2012, she was assistant in training at the Operating Units of General Surgery and General Surgery II - Day & Week Surgery section of the Multimedica Hospital of Castellanza. 

Since 2012, she is assistant in training at the General Surgery Unit - Day&Week Surgery section of the Istituto Clinico Sant'Ambrogio.

From 2013 to 2015, she attended the Operative Unit of Senology of the European Institute of Oncology (I.E.O.).

Since April 2014, he has been Assistant in the General Surgery Unit - Day&Week Surgery section, High Specialization Research Center on Abdominal Wall Pathology and Abdominal Hernia Repair Surgery - Hernia Center of Milan, Sant'Ambrogio Clinical Institute.

Since December 2017, she has been a fixed-term researcher at the University of Insubria, in General Surgery.

She is author and coauthor of 55 scientific papers and 18 chapters published in national and international journals and author of 4 posters, one of which was awarded with the "AHS Awards - The best poster".

She has participated in 40 national and international congresses, in 14 as a speaker, and in 6 national and international training courses.

She has participated in 12 humanitarian missions in Latin America, South America and Africa, during which, in addition to performing surgeries mostly for abdominal wall reconstruction, she has performed training activities for local surgeons.
