Carlo Grandis
Biography
Dr. Carlo Grandis is the head of the Hand Surgery Unit III at the Istituto Clinico San Siro.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa in 1976 and specialized in Hand Surgery at the University of Pavia in 1982, where he also completed his specialization in Orthopedics in 1988.
His professional experience includes:
- From 1979 to 1990, he served as an assistant in the General Surgery and Hand Surgery Division at San Paolo Hospital.
- From 1991 to 2003, he was the Chief of the autonomous Hand Surgery section at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
- From 2003 to 2016, he was the Scientific Director of the Hand Surgery Center at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
- From 2016 to 2019, he was the Director of the Hand Surgery I department at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
- For over 30 years, he has been practicing as a freelancer at the Habilita clinic in Acqui Terme (AL).
Dr. Grandis specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow disorders, with particular attention to prosthetic use and ultrasound-guided surgery, as well as nerve compression, tendinopathies, traumatic and post-traumatic conditions, congenital, vascular, degenerative disorders, and outcomes of rheumatic and tumor diseases.
He has served as a councilor for three consecutive terms with the SICM (Italian Society of Hand Surgery), is a member of the GEM, a corresponding member of the Spanish Society of Hand Surgery, and was the International Federation representative in 1982 for the study of the flexor tendons of the hand. He has participated as a speaker in numerous national and international scientific congresses and has taught at the specialization schools in Orthopedics at Pavia and Milan. He is the author of several publications in national and international hand surgery journals.
He is a member of scientific societies for hand surgery and has been a speaker at various national and international congresses.
