Anna Francesca Vergani
Biography
Dr. Anna Francesca Vergani is a hepatologist ultrasound specialist at the Radiology Service of the Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Carate Brianza and Brugherio.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1995. In 2001, she obtained her specialization in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy from the same university and registered in the National Register of Ultrasound Physicians (SIUMB).
From 1993 to 2006, she attended the Medical Clinic at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, under the direction of Professor Giuseppe Mancia. Here, she engaged in clinical and outpatient activities in the field of hepatology, focusing particularly on the treatment of chronic metabolic liver diseases (liver diseases secondary to iron deposits, alcoholic and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis).
She also conducted clinical and genetic research in hepatology, particularly on hemochromatosis and iron overload diseases.
From 2000 to 2006, she worked as an ultrasound physician at the Ultrasound Service of the same Medical Clinic.
From September 2006 to June 2007, she attended the Medical Clinic III as an ultrasound physician, directed by Professor Giovanni Federspil, at the Hospital Company of Padua. During her time there, she focused on thyroid ultrasound diagnostics, performing ultrasound-guided biopsies on thyroid nodules for fine needle aspiration cytology, as well as transvaginal ultrasound, particularly in diagnosing polycystic ovary syndrome.
Currently, at the Istituti Clinici Zucchi, Dr. Vergani conducts diagnostic ultrasound activities, performing various types of internal ultrasound examinations, including:
- Abdomen
- Neck
- Breasts
- Testicles
- Soft tissues
She performs Level II ultrasounds, such as color Doppler studies of the portal system and renal arteries in both inpatients and outpatients.
Dr. Vergani also conducts specialized hepatology consultations for inpatients and outpatients.
