Angelo Iamele
Biography
Dr. Angelo Iamele is a surgeon and consultant for the General Surgery Unit at Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Monza, providing surgical services authorized under a private healthcare agreement.
He also offers specialist consultations at the Carate Brianza facility and at Punto Raf Santa Croce in Milan.
Dr. Iamele’s educational background was developed at the University of Milan, where he graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1985. He later specialized in Digestive System Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy in 1990 and in Emergency Surgery and First Aid in 1995.
From 1988 to 2017, he worked at Ospedale Fatebenefratelli-Oftalmico in Milan, initially serving as a Medical Officer in Emergency Surgery and later as an assistant co-responsible for General Surgery.
In 2009, he obtained a diploma in Liver Surgery from the National ACOI School (Italian Association of Hospital Surgeons), followed by training at the Mauriziano Umberto I Hospital in Turin and the Department of Digestive Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the National Cancer Institute in Milan.
Dr. Iamele also completed various training programs in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Abdominal Wall Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Thyroid Surgery, and Breast Oncology Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO).
In July 2005, he completed surgical training for Obstructed Defecation Syndrome using the STARR-LONGO technique at St. Elisabeth Hospital in Vienna, Austria.
Throughout his career, Dr. Iamele has performed over 3,000 surgeries as the lead operator. These include elective and emergency procedures in abdominal surgery, laparoscopic and open surgery, hernia and incisional hernia repair, breast oncology surgery, and thyroid surgery.
His primary area of expertise is General Surgery, with a current focus on Hernia and Incisional Hernia Surgery, Digestive System Surgery, and laparoscopic and open surgical techniques.
Dr. Iamele is a member of the Italian Association of Hospital Surgeons (ACOI) and has authored or co-authored numerous publications and scientific articles.
He actively participates in congresses and continuing education courses, particularly in the fields of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Emergency Surgery.
