Biography

Dr. Andrea Rignano is the Head of the Vascular Surgery Department at Istituto Clinico San Siro and collaborates with Palazzo della Salute - Wellness Clinic.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1986, he specialized in Vascular Surgery at the same institution in 1991.

His professional experience includes:

  • From 1991 to 2000, he served as a graduate technician at the Institute of General and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Milan.
  • From 1997 to 2001, he was Assistant in Vascular and Thoracic Vascular Surgery at the VI Division of General Surgery, Padiglione Zonda, Policlinico Hospital of Milan.
  • From 2006 to 2010, he was Director of the Vascular Surgery and Angiology Unit at Casa di Cura IGEA in Milan.
  • Since 2001, he has been an Assistant Surgeon in the Vascular Surgery Division at San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan.

Regarding his teaching activities:

  • In the 2000/2001 academic year, he was a lecturer in "Elective Activities" at the University of Milan.
  • From 2002 to 2008, he was a faculty member, teaching Vascular Surgery at the II Vascular Surgery School.
  • From 2009 to 2013, he taught Vascular Surgery and served as secretary at the Vascular Surgery School.
  • From 2015 to 2018, he was part of the faculty at the Pediatric Surgery School.
  • Since December 2002, he has been a Confirmed University Researcher in the Vascular Surgery scientific area (MED 22) at the University of Milan.
  • In 2017, he returned as a faculty member at the Vascular Surgery School.

Dr. Rignano has authored over 60 scientific publications in international and national journals and has participated in over 6,000 surgeries as an assistant or lead surgeon, personally performing more than 2,000 major and medium surgeries and over 1,000 endovascular procedures.
