Biography

Dr. Andrea Pontara holds the position of Clinical Operations Manager in the Clinical Nutrition Area at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan (Medical Management - Clinical Nutrition Coordination Area).

He also serves as a Consultant for the Transplant Program at the Hematology Unit, directed by Prof. Fabio Ciceri.

In 2013, he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. In 2018, he completed his specialization with honors in Internal Medicine at the same university, and in 2022, he earned a second specialization, with honors, in Food Science from the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia.

Currently, he provides dietary consultations in various hospital departments, with a particular focus on artificial nutrition. His outpatient work is centered on home artificial nutrition (HAN) and second-level medical outpatient services (diagnostic-therapeutic nutritional assessments for complex patients with multiple comorbidities, severely malnourished patients, and those at high risk of malnutrition, as well as morbid obesity).
