Andrea Elli
Biography
Dr. Andrea Elli is an orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopedic Unit II at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2009, where he also completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with top honors in 2015.
During his specialization, he worked at various hospitals in Milan, including:
- 2010-2011: Rheumatoid Arthritis Surgery Unit at Ospedale Gaetano Pini in Milan
- 2011-2013: Traumatology Unit at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato
- 2013-2015: Orthopedics and Traumatology Department at Ospedale Niguarda
In 2012, he completed a fellowship under the supervision of Prof. J. Bellemans and Prof. K. Corten at University Hospitals Leuven in Belgium, focusing on knee and hip surgery.
Since 2015, he has worked as a specialist at Ospedale Niguarda and later at Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio, dealing with both traumatic and elective orthopedic surgeries.
Since 2022, he has been an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Unit II at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica, under the direction of Dr. Fabrizio De Marchi.
Dr. Elli specializes primarily in hip and knee surgery. He has a particular interest in conservative knee surgery aimed at avoiding or delaying joint replacement through osteotomies or arthroscopic procedures for meniscal repair and ligament reconstruction. Additionally, he performs anterior minimally invasive hip replacement (AMIS) and administers ultrasound-guided hip injections in the outpatient setting.
He is a member of the Workgroup Osteotomies of SIAGASCOT and has several publications in national and international journals.
